Luck O' The Irish

Backdrops, Floordrops and Props... oh my!

So if you haven't spread the word to your friends yet, be sure to!  I still have some spots left to fill for  my mini sessions and I'm super excited about the cute props and backdrops that I have for it- and I created my own little custom floor drop today as well- I'm anxious to see how it goes!

Tomorrow I get to spend the afternoon with a sweet little baby girl and I'm so excited I even got new fabric for her.  It's all about justification with me and shopping <3

Entering the Blogosphere

These last few months have been about getting priorities in line and starting to decide what changes I need to make to be who I want to be for myself and for my family.  It's often been joked about my many jobs and all of the things that I like to be involved in, but this winter I learned that yes, my plate CAN be too full.  My children are my number one priority and giving them the life that I've dreamed of for them, but there are two jobs/hobbies/activities that I want to also make sure have priority and one of those things is photography.  I've always loved picking up the camera, whether it was a disposable camera that my Nanny gave me for my tenth birthday or my Canon dslr.  I love capturing the moments, some staged and some not.  I love being able to look back and stare at beautiful things, places, people and events that I've come across in life.  My camera allows me to do that.
I've said many times to people that I've taught myself anything I know about photography which isn't a lot.  I can't tell Aunt Sue at your wedding how to use her camera because I'm still learning how to use mine.  In December I decided that I would go back to school for a photography degree.  Why not, right?  Here I am, almost three months in and so far I'm loving it.  Right now I am taking a course that is helping me with Photoshop, Lightroom and more.  I've already learned so many little things that I feel will help me grow as a photographer.  This past month I've been blessed with friends who have let me come capture their little ones so that I could play with new programs that I installed on my computer- so thank you Jenna & Missi :)
March is going to bring about a busy month for me with the camera and I'm looking forward to it!  In the next few weeks I will have the opportunity to capture babies, love birds, families and more.  I am currently awaiting the arrival of fun new backdrops for indoor photo sessions for the Spring and it's like waiting on Santa to arrive!  They just can't get here quick enough..
I've stopped putting entire sneak peeks up on my facebook page for the simple fact that over the holidays I didn't want to spoil anyone's christmas cards.  I will be putting sneak peeks up more sporadically in the coming weeks so you never know when a fun shot will pop up!
